The K-1 Fiancé Visa lets the fiance of a U.S. citizen come to the United States to get married. The couple must get married with 90 days of the immigrant fiancé arriving. After the wedding, the immigrant fiancé can apply for a green card to live in the U.S. permanently.

Eligibility for a K-1 Fiancé Visa is determined on a case-by-case basis. The general requirements for this application are:
Get Started- Be a U.S. Citizen (lawful permanent residents are not eligible to petition for a fiancé visa).
- Have met your fiancé in person at least once in the last two years (unless eligible for a waiver). You will need to provide proof of this.
- Provide evidence of a bona fide relationship.
- The non-U.S. Citizen Fiancé must be currently living outside the U.S.
